01What makes it different

Generic rota software schedules shifts. A veterinary rota also carries on call fairness, OOH recovery and clinical cover rules. The second half is the hard half.

RotaCloud publishes its prices openly, credit to them: for one to five staff the Standard plan is 10 pounds a month and Pro is 15, with bands roughly doubling as headcount grows, all as published on their pricing page in July 2026. Clock-in, their Time and Attendance module, is a separate paid add-on, as are SMS notifications. It has a veterinary landing page and named vet customer stories.

Vet HR is a different shape: your rota, clock in and out, holiday and policies arrive as one white labelled build carrying your practice's name, designed around your OOH and on call patterns before launch, with HR consultancy from the same people. One written quote, not a plan-plus-add-ons sum.

Add up the plan plus the add-ons

The headline price is the rota only. Clock-in and timesheets sit in the paid Time and Attendance add-on, from 4.50 pounds a month at the smallest band, and SMS notifications cost extra too. Price the whole stack at your real headcount, and note the band jump: moving from five staff to six doubles the plan price on their published table.

Test your actual rota shapes

Drag and drop shifts suit a rota that looks like retail. A veterinary rota carries first and second on call, OOH recovery time and clinical cover rules. RotaCloud offers a 30 day trial, so build your hardest fortnight in it, not your easiest, before deciding.

Is RotaCloud a bad choice for a veterinary practice?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. It is well priced, UK built, cancellable at any time and has real veterinary customers. If all your practice needs is a straightforward rota tool at a published price, it is a fair choice. Vet HR exists for practices that want the rota built around veterinary patterns, carrying their own branding, with HR advice attached.

How does Vet HR pricing compare with RotaCloud's?

Differently shaped. RotaCloud publishes banded plan prices and charges add-ons on top. Vet HR quotes one written price per practice for the build and support you actually need. At small headcounts RotaCloud's software alone will usually cost less; the comparison worth making is against software plus the HR support you currently pay for separately, or go without.

Can Vet HR match features like GPS clock-in restrictions?
