Croner describes over 80 years of compliance services and support for over 14,000 UK businesses. What its site does not have is a veterinary page. If your shortlist includes Croner, here is what to pin down first, and what a vet only alternative does differently.
Generalist advice starts with you explaining your practice. Specialist advice starts with the answer.
Croner's site names one sector specialism, the care sector, and mentions veterinary only in passing within general compliance resources. Its advisers may be excellent, but nothing published tells you what they know about practice life, on call patterns or RCVS expectations.
Vet HR works only with UK veterinary practices. The rota patterns, the out of hours arguments, the contracts for RVNs and freelance vet cover: this is the entire business, not one account among thousands.
All three come from what croner.co.uk publishes, and does not publish, as checked in July 2026.
There is no veterinary sector or service page on croner.co.uk: the only named sector specialism is care. Ask who would handle your account, and what documented experience they have with veterinary practices, X-ray compliance duties, out of hours rotas and RCVS requirements.
Croner publishes no pricing and no service terms of business on its site. Before signing anything, ask for the total annual cost for your practice size, which software and insurance elements are included versus priced separately, and the minimum term, notice period and renewal mechanics in writing.
Croner Limited's registered office is Victoria Place, Manchester, the same address as Peninsula's, and Peninsula's own company history page records acquiring Croner Group in 2015. If both are on your shortlist, ask how the advisers, software and service actually differ, so you are not comparing one group against itself.
Every system carries your practice's name and branding, not ours. These are the ones that matter most here.
For HR and employment documentation, yes. Croner also offers retained health and safety consultancy, payroll software and insurance backed products, which we do not sell. We do HR for veterinary practices and stay honest about the boundary.
Scale cuts both ways. Croner's site describes over 14,000 businesses supported and advisers with an average of 15 years experience. What no published page tells you is how much of that concerns veterinary practices. A smaller specialist knows fewer clients, and knows them in far more depth.
It starts with a free HR health check: thirty minutes, a plain English verdict on where your practice stands, and no obligation. From there you choose a fixed price project or a monthly subscription, quoted in writing first.
Yes. We handle the HR side, our See It Report It system keeps structured incident records, and your health and safety adviser keeps their remit. No bundle, no overlap, no gaps you discover later.
